I spent many summers during my 20s and 30s island hopping around Greece. I’m not 100% sure what it is about that sun-soaked country that kept me and my fellow travelers coming back year after year, but it does have something to do with the spectacular beauty of the islands, the laid back and fun attitude of the locals, delicious food, a lively nightlife, and exceptional affordability compared to most other European beach destinations. Even now, I can’t seem to stay away.
The summer of 2018 was the year we decided to introduce our kids to the wonders of Greece. We boldly set forth with 9 teens in tow and spent 16 days exploring Athens, Ios, Mykonos, and Santorini. We toured, and lounged on the beaches, sailed on catamarans, stayed out all night, and traveled from place to place via ferry. The whole family is now hooked!
